Beginning

Hey, I have a question for you, Heather. I'm going to be starting up a full-color webcomic soon, and I'm just curious how you manage your time as an artist. How do you split up your time between D*S pages, stand-alone pieces, commissions, and other artistic stuff? Do you have a schedule, like you finish a certain amount of pages and pieces a week? Do you do a certain amount of hours a day? Or do you just go with the flow?

And just, in general, were there any things you wished you new, or that you had done when you first started?

Pretty much just go with the flow. My goal is to do at least a page and a half a week [note: weekdays, i don't tend to touch my computer on the weekend much, and about 50% of the time I don't work on art past 5:30pm cos I spend time with the husband], so I try to get that done before working on other stuff... usually I don't have time to work on anything else tho lol.

And really, I guess there are times I wish I could go back and tweak the beginning of d*s a little, but for the most part, I am ok with how things went. I pretty much have been learning how to make a comic along the way. I do wish I'd known more when I started, but I had to start it at some point or it never would have gotten anywhere lol.

if you have any questions on how to maybe do a few things quicker, lemme know, I'll try to offer some advice -- but I don't work very fast anyway haha...so maybe I am not the best person to ask...
