They might not think bullets could actually hurt her or something, based on what happened at the school, and with her being barely hurt. Obviously they don't know about her rapid healing since she was bandaged, but they're probably going to assume anyone with her is unhuman, especially a dude with white hair and a young face who jumps over tall fences while holding a teenager like it ain't no thang XD

Well, if someone just murdered a bunch of people on accident with their mind, and then there's a guy leaping tall...fences...in a single bound carrying a grown person like nothing. I think I would not want to anger them out of fear that vix would go all Elfen Lied and rip my arms off with her mind. Or Kou would turn around and be all "WHAT'S GOOD, BEYAAAAAAAAATCH?
