How have you never heard of song of the south. It's about a story about racist animals as told by a happy freed slave. Basically a racist fox and bear are trying to catch a wily but racist rabbit. The way they eventually catch him is by making a black child out of tar or "tar baby" (a racial slur for black people). The rabbit becomes enraged that the black child does not respond to his white rabbit kindness and attempts to brutally beat the tar baby. He gets stuck in the tar and the racist fox and bear catch him. But the quick minded racist rabbit convinces them that tossing him into the brier patch is a much worse fate that eating him even though the rabbit is named BRIER (Br'er) FUCKING RABBIT!

The moral was that stories are much more interesting when told by deep-voiced black men with gray beards (e.g. Morgan Freeman).

lol, speaking of Sambo, my great grandma (in NC, btw...) used to have a black cat named Sambo, and it wasn't until years later that I realized how horrible that was.

Song of the South is where Zip a Dee Doo Dah is from and what Splash Mountain is based off of... and yes, it has a lot of somewhat racist implications but the actual stories were based on traditional African folk tales... so go figure (I only know this because of Anansi Boys by Neil Gaiman, lol)

Also, the charming black man that sang Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah was refused entrance to the premiere of Song of the South, because he's black. Even though that's why they hired him for the movie.
